In today's episode we revisit the story of Moses freeing the Hebrew people from Egyptian slavery and delve deeper into the magic walking stick turned snake Pokemon battle, and discuss the fascinating theories of how the plagues were direct attacks on so many of the ancient Egyptian's animal headed deities! 

We also drink not 1, but 2 bottles (not the whole bottles!) of value scotch whiskey from Costco!

On this very special episode of Getting Biblachol, we have our first ever guest on the show as we play our quote game "Is it Game of Thrones or the Bible" and do a silly exercise on comparing the major houses of Westeros and the 12 tribes of Israel, and then we top things off with a little discussion comparing John Snow and Jesus.

In today's episode we cover the story of Esther! One of only two women to get a book of the Bible named after them, Esther goes from winning the ancient Persian version of The Bachelor to saving her entire people from certain genocide! She even has a whole Jewish holiday surrounding her story!

And we also drink a Bordeaux wine that is particularly hard to google!  

In today's episode we continue on with the story of Moses covering Exodus chapters 5-15 as we recount how God inflicted Egypt with plague after plague in order to free the Hebrew people from slavery! Come for the turning of the country's main water source into blood, and stay for the skin boils and pestilence!

We also break down my own favorite Bloody Mary recipe as we re-use the previously showcased Moses brand Vodka! Cheers!

In today's episode we go outside the normal realm of what the show is about and decide to celebrate Saint Patrick's day by regaling legendary tales of the man himself as he rids Ireland of snakes and faces off in magic battles with Druids! He may not actually be a Bible story, but arriving on the scene just a few hundred years after Jesus we see some of his feats aren't too far off from those we find in the good book itself.

We also drink some Jameson Caskmates Stout edition to further get us in the mood for the holiday! Cheers!

In this week's episode we take a look at what the Bible has to say about Birthday parties! Spoiler alert: two thirds of the time someone DIES! Personally, I'm just happy if someone buys me a beer, but apparently back then your birthday wasn't lit unless someone gets decapitated. 

Also, we drink some Kosher for Passover Manischewitz wine which I was very much looking forward to trying since I haven't had it for about 20 years. Let's just say, some memories should stay in the past. Hear all about it in this week's show!

In today's episode we continue with the story of Moses covering Exodus chapters 3 and 4. God decides that Moses is his best bet to free his people from slavery, so he sets a bush on mystical fire and teaches Moses some cool party magic to hopefully scare the Pharaoh into releasing all his free labor workers! 

We also revisit Bushmill's Irish Whiskey and try a different version of their mainline product that is aged in bourbon barrels for a different taste: Bushmill's Red Bush!

On today's episode we venture into the book of Exodus to talk about the origin story of one of the most important figures in the Bible! None other than Moses himself! And we also sorta kinda talk about Superman as well. Find out why in today's episode!

Due to some technical difficulties, our today's originally planned episode was not meant to be (yet), so we decided to take this time to give you some updates on the future plans for the show, and also ramble on about random musings like the Colorado jogger who was attacked by a mountain lion, and celebrity religious affiliations!

On today's episode we finish up the story of Joseph, and how he saves his whole family from starvation all the while getting a little bit of revenge and punking his brothers that wanted to kill him 20 years prior!

We also try out some budget scotch whisky in the form of Walmart brand, or rather Sam's Club Member's Mark $20 bottle. Usually cheap booze is horrible and makes you wish for a quick death, so we'll see how this stuff measures up!
